Another popular social network, Facebook, has currently over 80 million users. Some social networks are strictly for fun, while 30 million people use them for business.
Due to social networking becoming so popular, Libava believes that “Franchisors need to adopt some of these strategies-and quickly.” He believes that with this fresh marketing perspective, he can help franchises stay strong. Over the years, Libava has acquired the connections needed to spread a franchise’s marketing message. After a while, Libava figured out how to use the connections strategically to his (or a franchise’s) advantage.
Some evidence of this is that Libava has an award winning blog called “The Franchise King Blog” and recently created FranchiseSocialMarketing.com. This blog was recently named one of the “Top 50 Business Blogs of 2008” and “A Top 50 Start-Up Blog to Watch”. Libava has stated, “All of these activities do start to add up.” He believes that this type of social networking and the mutual beneficial relationships he has created over the years are key to creating and adding value to franchises and attracting possible franchisees.
